The Woodbourne Priory Hospital is a 63-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults and adolescents, based in Edgbaston Birmingham, offering a wide range of care to our varied client base of inpatient, outpatient and day patients.

Specialising in the management and treatment of mental health problems, the hospital have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care. Our highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists, deliver personalised treatment programmes and a range of therapies.

Leading the field in CAMHS care Woodbourne:

  • Is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS (QNIC)
  • Is suitable for young people aged 12 – 18
  • Has 17 private bedrooms, which young people are encouraged to decorate and personalise
  • Offers specialist therapy programmes
  • Has education delivered by skilled teaching staff, with onsite assessment facilities
  • Has a dedicated 6-bed high dependency unit for young people requiring more intensive care

We are now seeking to recruit a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to help us build on the success of our CAMHS service.

If you have a passion for delivering first class CAMHS care then we want to hear from you.

To join us, you must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry and have experience of working in inpatient settings of people with significant mental health difficulties. You will certainly have experience at a consultant level within the NHS, including the ability to conduct training and some experience in addiction psychiatry. It is essential you have an interest in developing services in CAMHS.

A good team player, you must also be keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans. You will continue to hold a registration with the GMC including being on the specialist register for general adult psychiatry.
