JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Workshop Engineer (Large Engines)

 

 

REPORTS TO : Generator Engineer (Large sets) / Operations Director

 

 

LOCATION: Warmley, Bristol

 

HOURS: Full Time (37.5 hours)

 

JOB PURPOSE This is an exciting opportunity to work with the largest generator specialist in the South West. You will support the Rental Department in the service and maintenance of large engine generators.

 

KEY TASKS & MAIN DUTIES 1. Responsible for service, maintenance and overall upkeep and appearance of large containerised generators (500 Kva and above) for Rental fleet. Ensuring manufacturers recommended service schedules are followed. 2. Carry out Engine Rebuilds / Repairs (15Ltr – 60Ltr) to various Manufactures engines ie Perkins, Cummins Etc 3. Provide general assistance in the yard, including loading & offloading equipment. 4. Drive fork lift in yard as required. 5. Deliver & collect generators and ancillary equipment using appropriate company vehicles where required, including refuelling. 6. Carry out servicing and repairs to Power Electrics and customers equipment off site as and when required. 7. Carry out duties on our company on call rota system. 8. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy. 9. Comply with all aspect of the company ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 procedures, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 1. Possess a relevant qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Diesel Fitting / Plant i.e. City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent. OR to have served/completed an approved apprenticeship in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering OR proven experience servicing and repairing of large Diesel Engines 2. Possess good fault finding abilities and strong communication skills 3. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team NB. The Nature of our work requires DBS checks to be carried out and any offer is dependent on satisfactory references being obtained Benefits: 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, company pension scheme (currently 3%), private medical scheme and life assurance scheme.
