Lead Occupational Therapist, Farmfield

Our Lead Occupational Therapist role involves:
- Managing and leading the Occupational Therapy Department at Farmfield and Sturt House, using evidence based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.
- Managing and co-ordinating the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services.
- Ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
- Receiving and responding promptly to referrals.
- Undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintaining accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.
- Ensuring the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
- Maintaining and developing close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring clinical practice is in line with Elysium Healthcare policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
- Contributing to business growth by actively promoting priory therapy services in line with the local units’ business plan.
- Maintaining effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patient’s rehabilitation.
- Leading on implementation of new services within own site, sharing best practice with other sites in the area.
To be successful as a Lead Occupational Therapist, you’ll need:
- At least 3 years’ experience including at least 1 years’ experience of working within a secure or acute setting
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience of managing people.
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, together with a full BAOT membership and HCPC registration.
