OUTSOURCING SENIOR ASSISTANT - OUTSOURCING DEPARTMENT


Job Title : - OUTSOURCING SENIOR ASSISTANT

Based: Basingstoke  (some travel to Andover and Southampton Offices)

 

The Outsourcing Senior Assistant will be responsible to our Outsourcing Managers in carrying out all duties set out below.


Job Description:
Working in the Outsourcing department, reporting to the departmental managers and the relevant portfolio holder for specific client matters. Being professionally qualified (e.g. ACA, ACCA), studying towards these qualifications, or qualified by experience.


Duties :

• Preparation of management accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis using relevant software such as SAGE or XERO. To include posting journals, calculating accruals/prepayments and reconciling control accounts
• Effectively manage own time to ensure work is completed to deadlines as required
• Book-keeping for clients including bank recs, credit control etc.
• Preparation of VAT returns, EC Sales and Intrastat returns where necessary
• Undertaking management accounts work for clients as required
• Liaising with, and developing relationships, with clients
• Keeping the relevant manager, and others involved with the client, informed of developments
• Attend client meetings where necessary, build and develop good working relationships with clients and colleagues to develop further business over time
• Continuously develop own knowledge and skills by professional reading and attending Solent Accountancy courses/updates
• Working with tax, payroll and accounts department colleagues on related issues
• Ad hoc advisory assignments, under the supervision of the managers
• Completing timesheet accurately on a daily basis

• Any other reasonable duties required.

• Able to adhere to budgets and advise managers of problems on a timely basis

 

Professional Attributes :
The qualification/skill areas that are essential are:
Qualifications: Qualified for or studying towards a recognised qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience


Skills :
• VAT return preparation experience
• Book-keeping experience
• Use of computer packages e.g. SAGE, XERO
• Computer literacy especially regarding spreadsheets, e-mail and use of Microsoft Products in general.
. The skill areas that are desirable are:
• Former experience/employment in practices of similar size
• Knowledge of other accounting software including payroll
