Salary: £26,000.00 - £30,000.00  Per Annum

Job Description:

The Fundraising Manager will be an integral part of the Fundraising Team, reporting to the Director of Fundraising and working alongside the Development Coordinator and Trusts & Foundations Officer.
The Fundraising Team have an annual target of £1.5-2million to raise from philanthropic means and corporate sponsorship. This is a full-time, outward-facing role for an experienced and well organised fundraiser who is confident and able to make the ask.


1. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Take ownership and responsibility for developing and cultivating a portfolio of donors,
raising money by creating and managing face-to-face fundraising meetings.
- Research potential new donors, screening for suitability and establishing relationships over
the phone or in person.
- Develop the donor base, maximising fundraising potential and supporter retention.
- Represent JW3 to appropriate donors, funders and networks to secure ongoing and new
support and always being a key ambassador for JW3
- Oversee and implement systems for effectively responding to supporters’ enquiries,
donations and other requests.
- Monitor supporter feedback and come up with solutions to address recurrent issues.
- Ensure that accurate records are kept through the effective use of our database.
- Provide a high level of support to relevant volunteers and lay committees to ensure they
have all the assistance they need to plan and run events.
- Work with the Development Coordinator to provide a very high standard of supporter care
by ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
- Provide support and advice on all aspects of fundraising, including event logistics and
fundraising materials.
- Take responsibility with the Development Coordinator for following up on pledges made,
ensuring we have a 100% conversion rate from pledges to income received.
- Identify, develop and support new fundraising event groups and committees with the goals
of widening the circle of JW3 supporters and increasing JW3’s annual fundraised income
- Build relationships with relevant stakeholders to advance the fundraising goals of JW3.


2. Promoting and Representing JW3
- Protect and enhance the reputation of JW3, presenting the organisation in an appropriate
and professional manner to stakeholders.
- Act as an advocate for the impact of JW3’s work where appropriate.
- Build appropriate relationships with relevant organisations to raise JW3’s positive profile.


4. Other Responsibilities
- Attend all relevant staff meetings, supervisions, training days etc.
- Be part of the wider Development Team.
- Act as an ambassador/point of contact in the JW3 office
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required by your line manager


PERSON SPECIFICATION

critical.


Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven fundraising track record with relevant minimum experience of 2 years
- Proven successful experience of “making the ask” to a range of donors in the £1k-20k
bracket.
- Building successful relationships with individual donors
- Demonstrable experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience of developing successful, effective relationships with lay leaders and working
effectively and successfully with lay committees
- Confident, tenacious and ambitious, driven by results
- Successful team-working
- Successfully working under pressure, with multiple demands and in a changing environment
- Excellent written and verbal English communication, presentation and numeracy skills
- Motivated, highly organised, with initiative and good time management skills
- Extremely thorough – with attention to detail, consistently high levels of follow-through (a
‘completer-finisher’) and strong organisational skills, being both efficient and effective
- Outgoing, friendly and willing to pitch in and help others within the team
- Flexibility with a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
? Solid, appropriate level of IT skills, including using Fundraising/CRM software; Databases;
Spreadsheets (Excel), Word, Powerpoint, Internet, Outlook etc.
- Understanding of and commitment to the values, aims and objectives of JW3.


Desirable
- Experience working in a similar position at an arts organisation/venue (e.g. theatre, cinema,
cultural centre, gallery etc.)
- Experience of successful fundraising at a similar level within the Jewish community
- Experience working with volunteers.
- A demonstrable personal interest in and experience of the arts, culture and Jewish life
- Experience of working successfully with Tessitura (database).

regular hours – e.g. in the evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays - as required. NB, to serve
the needs of a community Centre that operates 15 hours per day for 6-7 days per week, all
JW3 staff may be required to work outside their ‘normal’ working hours at times
- Has a natural ability to effectively work in teams and form positive relationships
- Has passion, drive, commitment and integrity.
