The Role

The Email Gateway team is responsible for the ongoing development of Clearswift’s award winning SECURE Email & Exchange Gateways.  In order to continue to deliver these high quality solutions the team is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Software Engineer.

As a member of the team you will be developing products that allow organisations to safely use the internet to enhance the way they work, while protecting them from the risks of sensitive data getting into the wrong hands.  These products need to be fast, robust and secure to satisfy a wide range of organisations for which the leakage of sensitive data could cause loss of business and reputation or result in significant fines.  Where many organisations are forced to block the use of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype and many other sites and applications to protect themselves, Clearswift’s customers are able to define flexible policies which allow their users to take full advantage of the collaboration afforded by these modern communication channels while at the same time providing a secure environment within which to work.

Our engineers need to be experts in the protocols and applications that power the ever-changing internet as well as in the systems used to run some of the world’s largest organisations. We develop applications that have to handle millions of emails and browser transactions every day, and keep running “24x7”, 365 days a year, all around the world.

As the successful applicant you will be working on enhancing our products to satisfy the demanding requirements of our customers.  This will involve extending current software modules, integrating 3rd party components and implementing new ones.  You will be a Linux developer with C++, Java and scripting experience who considers all technologies when designing a solution and chooses the appropriate technology to achieve an efficient and effective result.

You will be working within a multi-disciplined Scrum team and will be expected to take an active role in capturing and understanding product requirements, producing design documentation, coding and creating automated tests.  You will work closely alongside the rest of the team members to achieve the team goals and will assist others to ensure the team’s sprints are successfully completed.
