Key Responsibilities

  • Growing, developing and motivating the team to achieve its optimal potential

Skills Profile

Knowledge

  • Full understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including the Scrum framework; knowledge and/or experience of working in Atern framework is a bonus
  • Knowledge of one or more internet formats and protocols would be advantageous; including SMTP, MIME, HTTP and ICAP. 
  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics,  Engineering or related subject or equivalent work experience
  • Track record of line managing a mixed discipline team of 5 to 10 engineers
  • o Hiring, appraisals, personal development plans, reporting
  • o Motivating, directing, coaching, supporting, delegating and mentorin Clear and concise communication skills (verbal and written)

• Proven experience of successfully delivering complex commercial software solutions

• Extensive experience of working within an Agile development environment

• Extensive experience of working with OO languages; C++ and/or Java in Tomcat on Linux

• Experience of writing Javascript

• Demonstrable experience of developing software for Linux

• Ability to constructively review other peoples work

• Ability to lead constructive meetings
