Grind & Co. are group of Restaurants, Bars and Coffee Shops with unique character and we’re growing fast! Shoreditch Grind is the original Grind in an iconic circular building right on Old Street roundabout. We are a crazy busy coffee shop by day serving awesome Espresso alongside simple, seasonal food, and an intimate cocktail bar and restaurant by night, serving the best Espresso Martini's you've ever tasted! We also house a Recording Studio upstairs used by some of the world's most recognisable artists and upcoming bands. The atmosphere in Shoreditch Grind is fast-paced and vibrant, with strong emphasis on quality coffee, food, cocktails and always the best service.

 

The General Manager should be an operations leader who has extensive knowledge in Food & Beverage and someone who enjoys interacting with guests and spending much of their time coordinating and monitoring the progress of business strategies in order to drive the business forward. The candidate will be energetic and well rounded, with a wide experience in delivering excellent performance and financial results. The General Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the site, with a high presence and hands on approach.

 

Main Duties

 

• Hands on approach to operations of the property with thorough knowledge of all departments

 

• Effectively lead the management and staff of all areas to maximise financial performance, while upholding quality standards and maximising the guest experience

 

• Assure achievement of annual targets in revenues, costs and profits through accounting diligence and expenditure control

 

• Thorough understanding of financial statements, budgets, and cost/inventory control 

 

• Monitoring management and team member activity and ensures their growth within the company

 

• Successfully balance the needs and expectations of guests and employees

 

The right candidate will be passionate about the hospitality industry, have at least 3 years managerial experience, excellent leadership skills, a strong ability to motivate a team of staff, and most importantly a passion for amazing service whilst having fun!

 

Daily Duties

• Carrying out inspections of property and services

• Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

• Maintaining and constantly improving food, beverage and service standards

• Possess superior communication skills, both oral and written and ensuring fluid communication with all staff and management

• Ensure that daily/weekly communications and tasks that are assigned by Operations Director are followed up and implemented.

Being a Manager at the Grind is demanding, but if you are up for the challenge our staff are highly valued, well rewarded and as a growing business there will lots of room for growth and development. This role is salaried dependent on experience, in the region of £28-33k, along with a generous monthly Bonus scheme.
