Salary: £32,000.00 - £50,000.00  Per Annum

Job Description:

Overall Purpose of Job
To provide assistance to the Associate Mechanical Engineer in the field of mechanical engineering
in the built environment by means of economical and environmental sustainable systems. Acquire
knowledge and ability with regard to the specialist sectors, in which Ingleton Wood is involved in to assist and produce specifications and drawings. To oversee projects from inception to completion (under the guidance of the senior Engineers). To prepare specifications and drawings of the mechanical installation, including liaison with the design team, whether internal (Ingleton Wood Multi-disciplinary project) or external (pure M&E project)


Principal Accountabilities:
Under direction of the Associate Mechanical Engineer
1. Technical

? Producing detailed specifications and drawings using Autocad and sketching formats to
comply with clients briefs.
? Formulating sound engineering, cost effective solutions.
? Ensuring designs not only meet functional requirements but are fully compliant with all
relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations and best practice
and environmentally sensitive.
? Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, contractors,
architects, surveyors, and in-house project teams.
? Dealing with statutory authorities in all matters affecting the incoming services to buildings
? Producing tender documentation.
? Monitor site works against specification requirements.
? Review hand-over O&M documentation.
? Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports.
? Administering contracts with the assistance of senior staff.
? Be capable of using Hevacomp software
? Be capable of thermal modeling (IES)


2. Administration
? To maintain daily timesheet records of current projects
? To keep accurate records of mileage and expense claims, maintaining receipts wherever
possible.
? Attend regular office meetings
? Comply with the practices QA system.
? Utilise the Manager system and inter-related IT systems
? Ensure compliance with Ingleton Woods’s workplace instructions.

3. General
? To attend the workplace suitably attired and in the appropriate manner as expected within a
professional office.
? Attend annual appraisal as conducted by the line manager.
? To achieve personal goals, aspirations and expectations as considered and agreed in the
annual appraisal.
? To effectively communicate at all levels and work on own initiative.


4. Training
? Attend CPD events organised both internally and externally.

? “On the job” training with senior staff.
? Further training (if required) including day release sponsorship will be agreed during the
annual appraisal including working to Chartered CEng status if appropriate.



Knowledge Experience
Some work experience in a Design consultancy


Education

? Working towards degree/Master’s
degree in Engineering -
? Good standard of literacy and
numeracy.
? Commitment to personal
development.
? Ability to use Autocad and engineering calculation programmes (i.e. Hevacomp and IES etc.) Building Services or other relevant engineering Degree or equivalent Understanding BIM and NBS Member of the CIBSE or other professional institution and working towards Chartered Engineer status.
