Job Description:
Reporting to: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Norwich
Overall Purpose Of Job
To provide Electrical Engineering support to the practice by providing expertise in the field of
electrical engineering in the built environment to be included in design and project management.
Principal Accountabilities:
General/Technical
Level 1 - 2
a) Complete tasks as assigned by the team leader including assisting in the formation of
sound engineering, cost effective solutions.
b) To maintain daily timesheet records of current projects
c) To keep accurate records of mileage and expense claims, maintaining receipts
wherever possible Drawing up detailed specifications and drawings against clients
briefs.
d) Comply with the practices IMS systems.
e) Utilise the Manager system and inter-related IT systems
Level 3
f) Meeting with clients to establish project brief, formulating sound engineering, cost
effective solutions.
g) Formulating sound engineering, cost effective solutions.
h) Ensuring designs not only meet functional requirements but are fully compliant with all
relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations and best
practice and environmentally sensitive.
i) Attend regular office meetings
j) Liasing closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders,
architects, surveyors, and in-house project teams.
k) Dealing with statutory authorities in all matters affecting their incoming services to
buildings.
l) Preparing budget costs for client consideration.
m) Drawing up tender documentation.
Level 4
n) Reviewing tenders received and preparing tender reports and recommendations.
o) Project manage site works from commencement to completion.
p) Monitor site works against specification requirements.
q) Assist with the training of graduates and generally overseeing Junior Staff Review
hand-over O&M documentation.
r) Agree contractor’s final accounts.
s) Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports.
Level 5 - 6
t) Checking and Preparation of Fee Invoicing each month
u) To meet annual and monthly fee targets as directed by the office partner.
v) Preparation of fee bids relevant to energy related projects
Other
a) To attend the workplace suitably attired and in the appropriate manner as expected within a
professional office.

Qualifications
Degree/Master’s degree in Engineering
Member of the Chartered institute of
Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy
Institute (or equivalents)
Chartered Engineer status or approaching
