Job Title: Assistant Manager
Responsible to: Operations Manager (OM)
Scope and general purpose
To assist the OM with the efficient day to day running of the hotel by your
management of the property, guests and team. Key accountabilities:
efficiency, financial, team, excellence
1. To develop a positive company culture that ensures a motivated and
productive team. To ensure that the company core values, behaviours and
attitude, Quality, Ownership and Team are an integral part of the department and administered at every level.
2. To achieve best possible staff performance in all departments by
organising efficient training, monitoring performance and personally becoming involved in staff development, to ensure they perform at Torridon Best.
3. To ensure that guidance, assistance and supervision is given to the
Restaurant, Bar and Front of House departments and assist to ensure that
the highest possible level of guest service is offered in each department and
exceeded wherever possible.
4. To monitor and control a quality control audit within your departments to
ensure the highest level of service at all times.
5. To assist with work rotas for departments to ensure that adequate levels of service are delivered and sufficient to requirements.
6. To organise and assist staff and departmental meetings and contribute and communicate effectively to ensure meetings are productive, report to
directors and manager as necessary.
7. To manage and monitor stock including whisky, wet stock, glassware,
crockery, cutlery restaurant supplies and office supplies to ensure that each
department operates at maximum efficiency.
8. To ensure that all guest complaints and queries are dealt with efficiently
and actions given to directors & manager and that a process of continuous
improvement is in place.
9. To ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for you, Staff and guests to the hotel. and ensure that your departments are managed
effectively to meet legislative requirements.
10. To regularly monitor competitors and be aware of current policies,
practices and trends in order to ensure a continuous process of improvement.
11. Assist with the monitor of room occupancy levels and sales targets on a
monthly basis to achieve best possible company results.
12. To assist and monitor the Green Conscious initiatives within the company and assist to improve environmental practices.
13. Any other duties that may be required for the overall benefit of the
company within range of skills of the job holder.
Management will provide additional training where appropriate.
