Job Description:
Our Client is a fast growing Electrical Testing and Inspection Company based in Saffron Walden – Essex. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit askilled Technical Manager to lead and develop the Operations Team.
This person will act as the Qualified Supervisor (QS) for the company and report directly to the CEO.
Working in a fast growing company you will be enthusiastic, flexible and a
skilled problem solver. You will be tasked with leading the Operations Team ina very competitive marketplace ensuring that we are productive and efficient, whilst as the same time ensuring we are compliant with the required regulations associated with Testing & Inspection.
This position would suit someone who is based within a 30-40 mile radius of
Saffron Walden where you will be 2-3 days per week. Whilst in the office you
will be managing the operations schedule, overseeing and completing EICRs, Compiling remedial quotes and acting as first point of call for clients and engineers. You will also be responsible for the company H&S compliance ensuring that we are working safely and have all the requisite Risk Assessments/Method Statements and training programmes in place. (We will send the right candidate on courses as required to develop this area of expertise).
The rest of your week will be spent in the field either training and QSing at
site level or seeing clients and surveying. In busy periods you will be expected to undertake testing and inspection and remedial works yourself as required for the good of the business.
The 3/2 split is a guide and there will be weeks where you are office based all week and/or site based all week – so flexibility is key here – no clock-watchers need apply!
The nature of our work is nationwide so you should expect to travel
throughout the UK as required by the business. There will be long days and
some overnight stays – however, we will look to keep these to a minimum.
This opportunity is not for everyone – you will need a lot of energy as you will effectively be heading up the field team and be the 'Right Hand Man’ to the CEO in a fast moving growing business. The benefits are open ended and the right candidate should be looking to be Operations Director within 2 years.
This person must be a skilled Electrician with excellent teamwork and
customer care skills. Very hard working, cheerful and flexible. You need to
have 2391 or 2394/5 as well as experience in commercial remedial and install works. You will need to be comfortable with computers and be happy to use software-based reports (currently EasyCert).
Salary 30,000.00 - £35,000.00 Per Annum
